Kate Mara and Nick Robinson in A Teacher (2020)

Review by irtezaishtiaque

A Teacher

10/10

Sad, depressing .. but somehow, more realistic

First of all, this is great ! Bold acting from both Kate Mara & Nick Robinson. Great directing, sound production so far.

The problem with the series is it's concept. Also, it's point of view is a bit different. We're not watching something which is from either the teacher's or the student's point of view, like 500 days of summer portrays the whole movie from one point of view, which causes many viewers to mislead from the point.

This is actually from the both protagonists point of view. How they felt at each other at different timeline ... That's why the question arises: 'Who is to blame here' ? This part is left for the audience to judge, that's what i like about it.

The most important part was their last meetup, in the last episode. It was necessary. You can see, with time, how Eric has developed his thought to blame Claire for these entire series of events, which he wasn't doing at the beginning of their fall.

That's what happens when broke up people meet with each other after a long period of time. They try to express their point of view to the relation from their own, reformed perspective.

Again, great series. Give it a try. ** BTW, nice choice of soundtracks
