Drew Barrymore in The Drew Barrymore Show (2020)

Review by murphysmessage

The Drew Barrymore Show

10/10

Growing on me

I was like many of the other reviewers on here.. cynical and uncomfortable with all the ooey, gooey, sweetness of it all. But Drew's still growing and learning and getting a bit more comfortable at her role as a leader of adults (her children are almost pre-teens) not just a Mom to small children. She has "news you can use" about how to be healthier in mind, body, and spirit. It's a balance for all of us to keep a child-like playfulness to enjoy everyday life and yet be the responsible adult who is self motivated to make the healthy choices we all know we should be making. It's nice to see someone who was an alcoholic in rehab at 13 years of age succeed at being an adult and passing along 35 years of counseling knowledge to those of us trying to counsel ourselves. (Because who can really afford bi-weekly, weekly, much less daily counseling?) . Yesterday she talked about the Oprah effect on society and how that's missing in todays society. She agreed to be a conduit for others seeking positive change in their lives and I, for one, am willing to give her a chance! Plus it's funny to watch her dog clean himself when the conversation lingers..
