The Matrix Resurrections

4/10

sad sad sad money grab

Holding onto the fan base they created The Wachowskis or more specifically Lana Wachowski really didn't know what the convey during this film.

I, in the 90's, was a great fan of this trilogy and the special effects and cinematography were ground breaking and were something new, this just was visually what we've seen before and the plot was predictable.

What I did appreciate was there was some hope for this script in originality and there was a reflection on the world in its current state with dependency on technology, but I think that either Lana didn't know where she wanted to send this script, or WB executives had too much creative control and chopped and changed too much of the script.

I also appreciated the introduction of Neil Patrick Harris' character and thought that was a good portrayal, I also liked the fact that time wise they were respectful of original characters, and she utilised the modern technology at her disposal.

But the fact still remains this was a very low credit film. It was too long, too boring, too slow and something I really struggled to stay invested in.

If you're gonna to do a reboot, then do it well.
