Missing is a truly superior sequel and masterpiece of a thriller film!!!!
This is film a true incredible and intense thrill ride that was brilliantly written and is filled with lots of twists and unexpected surprises throughout it. "Missing" is definitely superior to "Searching" as it takes all of the suspense and drama from that film and triples the intensity to it. It has honestly been a long time for me in the theater watching a film where I was completely blown away and wondering what was going to happen next. As things seem to get worse and worse for the character June as she tries to search for her mother. I love the fact with this film that the more June goes through rabbit hole trying to find the whereabouts of her mother, the darker things seem to get for her. The thing that I love about this movie is that there is no calmness for the characters, everything is in panic and the intensity is sky high. As audience member with this movie there truly isn't a time for you to relax and compose yourself with what you are seeing like some films do, cause this movie certainly does not allow that. The plot twist and the third act really blow me away and caught me off guard cause the shocking reveal of what has happened to Grace and why she has went missing was something I truly did not see coming. Plus the third act is also quite darker and more disturbing than anything that "Searching" tried to do with its plot. Now I give praise to Storm Reid for her performance in this film as you could truly feel the fear, intensity and emotions of her character in the performance that she put on. The fact that June wasn't always the best daughter to Grace and knowing that June regretted a lot of the stuff that she had done to her mom and the fact that she might not ever see her again to tell her that she loves her and how sorry she truly was for her past transgressions was real gut punch at times. June is definitely a character that the audience can get behind and feel for throughout out the film. The whole time I was watching this film I was alongside her hoping that she would see her mom again. I honestly think that Storm Reid deserves a Golden Globe nod for her performance in this film, that is truly how amazing this young woman did with this movie. "Missing" is truly a film that I recommend that everyone go see this weekend and is also must buy for your Blu-ray and DVD collection once it becomes available.
