    Gut Wrenching

This continues the stories of little children, brought from African countries for some purpose. It turns out that someone had some serious motivation and saw the little guys as "scum." In the second issue, the death of the priest, we are brought into the sins of the Catholic church. Sometimes the victim who gets his revenge ends up paying a dear price for his actions. There is no clear answer because the tenets of the church are so obtuse as to allow the actions to continue and the perpetrators to prosper.

    It's a harrowing, powerful story.

You would expect by such a name, Suffer the Children, that this was going to be harrowing, it is that, and then some. This one truly is bleak, it deals with some of the most harrowing, obscene, disgusting crimes known to humanity.

It does lack some of the lighter moments that you get in the later episodes, it is all one way traffic, they could have perhaps lightened it up a little.

A good story for Leo, we learn more about his past, and why he and The Detective have a distinct awkwardness.

Michael Byrne is excellent here, a very strong performance from him as the Father.

This was a brave story, it didn't shy away from cultural differences, it was a well told story.

    Powerful, 8/10.
