Kim Myung-soo and Shin Hye-sun in Angel's Last Mission: Love (2019)

Review by kaydan-97529

Angel's Last Mission: Love

5/10

Started strong & got lost in its own rational

First of, right off the bat. I want to say that Hye-Sun Shin carried this drama single-handedly.

The story starts strong with the focus on Yeon Seo shutting out the world & reflecting the cruelty which she thinks she has been dealt. She is unlikable & harsh to whoever dares enter her vicinity.

The story continue well, with Dan, the angel, acting as her polar opposite. She is numb & angry. He is kind & smiling. As so happens, the polars attract & so starts the love story.

My frustrating with this Angel's Last Mission is that how God is portrayed. The Diety, is loving, yet almost all the characters, even the Archangel Hoo, dont hold much faith. Continuously questioning The Diety and declaring His actions to be unfair & cruel/ harsh.

Its this last point that was rubbed in to often in the 2nd half of the show, that it quickly grew annoying. They believe in The God, yet they dont have much faith in Him. It seems to me, that the drama was written to the western atheistic sentiments. What even more bizarre is that at the very end, it is The Diety, who shows mercy! Yet, none of them show gratitude.

Great 1st half.

Poor 2nd half.

One more thing, Hye Sun Shin was amazing. She had to display many different emotions within a single episode & she did it very well. In my opinion, she carried the show.
