Love, Victor (2020)

Review by aakashsen

Love, Victor

7/10

Watched both seasons. Here are my thoughts.

Season 1 I thought the show was very overrated because of the clichés and the fact that it had a boring storyline as a whole. I couldn't find any of the characters interesting. I'm a 19 year old gay closeted teen who didn't enjoy the show as much as i should have. So my original imdb score was actually a 5.

Mia was terrible, Lake was insufferable. At one point, Victor and his entire family were annoying as hell. It was just chaos all over.

There were good moments - the New York episode, The tension between Victor and Benji, and the conversations between Simon and Victor.

Season 2 They clearly made good changes to the show. We saw different sides of Victor, Lake, Pilar, and Armando. The characters felt real this time around and not like stereotypes.

Rahim was a beautiful addition to the cast, I loved every minute of his screentime.

The show stressed on how the grown ups cope up with the LGBTQ+ culture and it was portrayed as realistically as possible.

There were a lot of good points throughout the show.

There were a couple of downsides obviously. Clichés (but lesser than the previous season), and questionable character choices. But overall, this was a huge improvement. So I think I'm going to UP the score to a 7.

Let's see how season 3 does!
