Kate Winslet and Guy Pearce in Mare of Easttown (2021)

Mare of Easttown

9/10

Have a good night Mare!

Exelent episode. They managed to keep up with reasonable plot twists, while still developing characters and end the episode brilliantly. Kate Winslet did an outstaning performance on this show, from start to end; it's rare to watch an actor give so much to the show, and she did that -- Mare is a loveable, conflicting character, it's hard not to love her even with all her flaws and imperfections. Julianne Nicholson, playing the role of Lori Ross, is a stand-out on this episode, what an incredible performance and what a way to portray emotions in such a believable way! The last 10 seconds are just phenomenal -- trauma is something that never goes away, but you eventually learn to live with it.

This episode is captured in such a melancholic way, it's gorgeous to look at, yet depressing. Throughout the whole show, there wasnt a single bad shot that didnt tell a story, or that didnt serve its purpose. Craig Zobel did an amazing job directing 'Mare of Easttown', and Brad Ingelsby for writting an intriguing drama/ mistery show.

I would have liked to have a little more closure with Carrie, Drew's mother. She was such a flawed mom, but so incredibly dedicated to her son and his happiness just like Mare was to his son Kevin. Other than that, this episode goes to show that 'Mare of Easttown' will forever be a must-watch for everyone that has a HBO subscription.
