Solid action and comedy!
Teddy (Kevin Hart) is a strugging fitness entrepreneur who tries to arrange a wonderful birthday surprise for his girlfriend Lori (Jasmine Mathews), but when Teddy is unable to read the address to Lori's getaway surprise, he mistakenly finds himself in the middle of a torturous interrogation and forced to play the role of a legendary hitman, 'The Man From Toronto'. Soon, the real Man from Toronto (Woody Harrelson) must use Teddy to complete a mission without losing his patience.
Funny unlikely buddy action/comedy! Kevin Hart brings his charming and boisterous persona to the film while Woody Harrelson channels his dark and brooding motivation. The film is well shot and the development of the main characters is well done. There is an excellent "Kingsmen: The Secret Service" (2014) battle royale sequence that leaves a lingering impression of the choreography and desire for evermore stunts. The plot makes it logical conclusion, but the faults lie in not truly understanding who the Handler (Ellen Barkin) really is or why the antagonists in the film are trying to complete the mission, in competition with the Man from Toronto; the story centers too much around Hart and Harrelson and doesn't expand on the oppositon.
Worth a watch!
