    The Magnificent Few & S'winter

    The Magnificent Few

I never got the title of this episode when I was a kid. Now, I know what it means. The episode itself does seem like a repeat of previous episodes. However, the jokes are even funnier especially if you noticed the sign at the mall's cafeteria.

    S'winter

One of the show's episodes that I remember most when I was a kid, it is still a funny episode. I kinda wish we could have an actual S'winter season. It's also a bit confusing when Alyson Stoner wasn't Isabella's singing voice.

    Cattle and winter paradises

Despite being a huge Disney fan, 'Phineas and Ferb' was one of those shows before starting to watch where there was uncertainty as to whether it would be my cup of tea. Luckily, it turned out to be a major hit with me and my brother and sisters and very quickly we became addicted to it. Even if it is very formula-based, there are so many cool situations, quotes and songs and have always loved the characters and the theme song.

"The Magnificent Few" and "S'Winter" are two other great winners for 'Phineas and Ferb'. While loving both episodes, "S'Winter" gets the slight edge with a cooler location, more inventive material and a more appealing concept. Credit is due though to "The Magnificent Few" for making what didn't sound very interesting on paper at first glance a good deal of fun. Neither are among my favourites of 'Phineas and Ferb' but the outstanding quality of the show at this point of its run has far from faltered.

Animation is bright and colourful, with such vibrant colours that literally pop out at you and beautifully detailed backgrounds. That winter paradise in "S'Winter" made me green with envy and quite nostalgic. The music is in the style that is not usually my style of choice when listening to music, but it is very catchy and pleasant to listen to. The theme song is irresistible with a melody that sticks in the head for days without being an earworm and with very quotable lyrics. Some nice visuals accompanying it too.

Writing is witty and is accessible for children and adults alike, nothing is simplistic here while still being easy to understand. The pace is lively and the formula still has freshness thanks to the imagination of what the boys get up to. "The Magnificent Few" is a lot more entertaining than it sounded, part of it being down to how wonderfully nuts Doofenschmirtz's plan is and it was great to have the two main plot-lines being related to each other. Did find the material more inspired in "S'Winter" though and the writers and animators clearly were having a great time with the winter paradise. Candace's subplot here is not near as cringe-worthy as feared and is relatable for anyone who's been there, though it is the least interesting part of the episode.

Phineas and Ferb are very appealing and plenty will find themselves in them if they are imaginative and constantly thinking of extraordinary things to do. Doofenschmirtz shines in especially "The Magnificent Few" and Perry for me is one of those "can't get enough of" characters, the chemistry between the two of them is both tense and funny. The voice acting is great.

    Summing up, wonderful again. 10/10

    • Trivia
First series appearance of Vanessa Doofenshmirtz.
    • Goofs
During "S'Winter", when Phineas, Ferb and Candace are falling in pose onto the winners podium, Jeremy can be seen to the right with closed eyes during that whole moment. It is apparent that this is an animation mistake.

Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz: Ah, Perry the Platypus. As usual, your timing is uncanny. And by uncanny, I mean completely canny!
