Did You See His Eyes ?

I saw this episode when it aired in 1984, a few days shy of my 6th birthday. As soon as Joel Higgins spoke to us while looking at us head on through the camera, this was something I had never seen on television before. Especially with the eyes of a child. The great John Houseman is nothing less than shy of being a great actor with his performance as not only thr Grandfather but the voice of reason and nobility. Rick Schroder transformed in this episode from being a child actor into a young adult. This story is pure honest emtion. It is what makes the orld of comedy / drama real on and off the stage. It effected me than as much as it does now. It is true art that has stood the test of time. It stands as the best episode of Silver Spoons.
