Kyra Sedgwick, Joey Bragg, and Rachel Sennott in Call Your Mother (2021)

Review by Ed-Shullivan

Call Your Mother

4/10

If this is comedy when should I start laughing?

I get it. Not every scene is going to make us belly laugh. And of course, it may take several episodes for an eclectic cast of characters to click on all cylinders. After watching the first episode my first clue this series was going to bomb was when that obnoxious canned laughter started. Why don't the producers can the canned laughter and replace it with a big honking sign at the bottom of the TV screen that says "PLEASE LAUGH NOW".

I give it a 4 out of 10 IMDB rating to give the young actors at least a chance to complete more than the announced four (4) episodes, but I won't hold my breath waiting for anymore episodes to appear.

Sorry but I am just being honest. This is not a laughing matter.
