- Night falls in London. Tonight, Belle explains, there is a fine invitation-only party taking place. "Sometimes, I get paid to do the things I always wanted to do," she says.
Dolled up in a black wig and feathers, she waits in line for the most prestigious adult party in the country. They have strict rules: you have to be under 40, educated, beautiful and part of a genuine couple. They have to turn over cell phones and cameras but can be reached by emergency number.
Her date quizzes her on his bio. She grabs champagne, but it's just for show. She doesn't drink when she's working. She checks out the people at the party. Exhibitionists, wall flowers, cool kids, people making out on couches. She starts kissing her date, who has, let's remember, hired a call girl for sex.. He tells her it's too early. He tells her he wants to wait. He wants to watch all the other men want her then later, when she's really desperate, he'll give in. Our sex worker looks a little repressed.
Walking out of the make-out room, she walks into a man and freaks out a little. She runs to the bathroom. She recognized him. She goes through her mental Rolodex of every man she's ever slept with. It takes a minute.
She sees him again and recognizes him, a novelist whom she adores. She approaches him, to apologize. He flirts. She likes it. He can tell she recognizes him, because she knows his name. She asks him if he'd like to go somewhere more private. Her date, Alexander, comes and steals her away. He tells her no one can have her but him. Perfect.
Later in the party, more nakedness. Guests get down to what the evening's about, except Belle. "Here I am with the only possessive man at an orgy." She distracts her date and sneaks off to find Jay the novelist.
A bell rings, a show is starting. Belle and Jay are left alone. The show is a woman with balloons taped all over her. They're popped one by one. Alexander is preoccupied. Belle sneaks off with Jay. They start to make-out.
It's getting intense when Jay's date joins them. A welcome addition. There's lots of writhing, but nothing serious yet. Belle stops. Shes worried about being caught. They tell her she could go home with them.
She realizes that it's very unprofessional to ditch a client and you should never let your personal desires get in the way of work. Nevertheless, she gets one of the waiters to fake a call for her. She tells her client she has to leave for personal reasons. He'll be reimbursed, but now he's the one looking repressed.
In the car on the way to make out with her dream novelist, she has seven cell phone messages waiting for her. She begs off from her assured night of threesome bliss. Personal reasons again.
Her sister has just had her baby, ruining Belle's chance to have the best sex of her life. Her mom and dad are there. So is her friend Ben. He brought a card, she didn't. She's still all dolled up. Ben finds her black wig in her bag. They coo at the baby.
She goes to talk to her dad. He's smoking. She roles him a cigarette. He asks her what she's been up to. She gives him a look like, "Do you really want to know?" and doesn't answer. There's just no right way to tell your pop you have sex with strangers for money.
Hannah rides home with Ben. He pulls the wig out of her bag and tries it on. He asks her if she's a little bit over-dressed for a work function, the excuse she'd offered.
She goes home, takes off her fancy clothes and climbs into bed. She pulls out Jay's novel and goes to bed with her favorite author. "Just not in the way I would have liked."
