Sons of Anarchy

9/10

Still stand up 10 years after it's ending

I know this review comes over ten years sine Sons of Anarchy wrapped up but I do have my own personal reasons for not watching the show when it was first aired!

Ron Perlman , I can't stand his acting and I clearly remember when SoA was on air in 2010 getting rave reviews trying to watch the pilot episode and switching off after 10-15 minutes in More fool me , in late 2024 I was laid up ill and out of boredom started watching the show again and to my surprise it was as good if not better (excluding S3!) than the reviews say I'm not much one for all the symbolism of certain scenes and trying to compare a 21st century tv show with 15th century literature But what SoA does is straight forward exciting screen time that mixes sex , violence and family into a storyline you know the ending by the end of the first episode

No silly twists that seem to be the bane of modern streaming tv shows You could argue that a few seasons could have been more concise and if you've watched all of the seasons you'll probably understand my dislike of season 3 but that's the only reason I rate this at a 9 not a 10 like other modern tv masterpieces like the writers own "the Sheild" Maybe if we are lucky Abel Teller will be of an age he could hold a licence to ride a Harley and find his own "Opie" style best friend??

Mayans beware!
