Ruthless captivating entertainment
Vetrimaran's cult of raw depiction continues, but the stage is 1980s, set inside a village surrounded by deep forests. Soori's love, empathy, fear are well enacted. Every character is well defined. The struggle of the protagonist to salvage the situation, taking brave steps, bearing the wounds is boundless. The cameraman stuck to the theme of the story in showing the difficulty of life in a forest and not the beauty of it. Dialogues are limited, but crisp and inline with the story. Songs are mesmerizing as expected from Raja. Finally, the audience can only feel surprised by the abrupt end. 'Cannot wait for the second part'.
