                                  A Journey Through the Zone

When it comes to prequels (and the second entry in the series is exactly that), "S. T. A. L. K. E. R.: Clear Sky" is not just a foreword to the iconic events of "Shadow of Chernobyl", but a fully-fledged journey into the world of the Zone - a world that fascinated players so much in the first game. This story allows you to look into the past and uncover what led to the fateful events of the original, all while immersing yourself once again in the harsh, unforgiving atmosphere of Chernobyl.

This time, the protagonist is Scar - a seasoned mercenary who miraculously survives a powerful emission. He's rescued by the Clear Sky faction, researchers of the Zone who are trying to understand its anomalies and uncover the nature of its mysterious phenomena. The problem is that the emissions are becoming increasingly destructive. The game unravels a complex web of intrigue and plot twists - and does so rather effectively, culminating in the events that set the stage for the original game (which, in essence, is a continuation of this story).

Everything is delivered in classic "S. T. A. L. K. E. R." fashion - through atmospheric dialogues, PDA notes, and scattered rumors from fellow stalkers. The Zone is once again full of secrets, and each new piece of information only raises more questions. "Clear Sky" brings players back to familiar locations, albeit with slight changes - shaped by the fact that many of the transformations in the world have not yet occurred.

The weapon arsenal in "Clear Sky" stays true to the series' roots. You've got everything you need to survive in the Zone: pistols (only useful against the weakest enemies), assault rifles (your main tool for staying alive), sniper rifles (perfect for taking out enemies from a distance), shotguns (ideal against mutants lunging at you from the shadows), and grenades (great for flushing out entrenched foes or slowing enemy advances).

Weapon customization is also part of the game - you can add underbarrel launchers, extend magazine size, improve accuracy, and more. It's a satisfying system that lets you tailor your gear to your preferred playstyle.

"S. T. A. L. K. E. R.: Clear Sky" is a solid prequel that expands the universe and introduces a few interesting mechanics, though it doesn't offer anything radically new. Yes, the faction warfare system is an intriguing experiment - but it doesn't always work as well as one might hope. Yes, the anomalies, weapons, and upgraded visuals bring the Zone to life even more vividly - but there's no real sense of freshness or reinvention.

Still, this is unmistakably "S. T. A. L. K. E. R." - with its unique atmosphere, radiation, anomalies, and the endless stories that emerge during gameplay. If you love the Zone, "Clear Sky" will be another gripping journey through its dangerous paths.

                                  7 out of 10.

Not as good as the others

This game was not too bad, but it really annoyed me - Your health goes quickly, armour is useless, etc..

I have only played the start of the game, around the first time you see Sidorovitch - Too difficult and, I never thought i would say this on a STALKER game, but kind of boring and really difficult - no money, not armour, too much sh*t in my inventory, and other things like not being able to stash just be clicking - you have to DRAG the items into the box.

There is also no atmosphere in this game. The other games definitely have some pretty good scary/creepy moments, but Clear Sky does not seem to at all. Maybe it gets scary, but I probably wont find out myself.

Though this game is not too bad, I probably will not really get into this one. I would highly recommend Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat.

                                  Brilliant again!

It's impossible not to love this game! After "Stalker - Shadow of Chernobyl" I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. Now, most of the cool stuff remains the same... music, atmosphere, stunning and creepy visuals and other things as anomalies and mutants. Got some new characters and a new story. This time the player joins the special group of stalkers called "Clear Sky", most of them are scientist who tries to examine the zone. Again you have that cold, creepy music and atmosphere that keeps you really intrigued of what have happened here in Chernobyl, if you are really a fan of FPS/RPGs and fascinated with Chernobyl disaster. There's no really need to talk anymore, this game received many positive review all over. You should play it and see for yourself. It's really amazing.
