    So bad it hurts...

Rarely do I review movies but in this case I felt compelled to warn others. The movie began promisingly enough but rapidly lost itself in a convoluted plot that built up to an anti-climax. The premise for the movie could have been used to much greater effect, I felt like about 3/4 the way into the movie it became very rushed and the climax (if you could call it that) left me disappointed. The special effects, while not great, were interesting and the costumes were quite stunning. The acting was a bit corny but I did like the leading character until the very end when the whole movie dropped itself into the toilet. Stay away at all costs!

    A not so bad Sci-Fi B movie

This movie is kind of entertaining for the sci-fi fan. It has many references to other Sci-Fi creations, including Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate, Battle Star Galatcia and Dune. In fact the film must assume many of the users are familiar with many of these Stories as elements of each are used throughout. For instance Stargates are used both with no explanation of what for. The film is scattered with cheesy humor, that gives it much charm. The start of the movie features a 5+ minute prologue, which in part seems to be put in to extend the movie length. Don't see it to be blown away by special effects. See it when you are in the mood for some grade B Sci-fi.

    Unmitigated TRIPE

Bad acting, bad script, not too bad CGI, laughable, but in the wrong way...

This movie rates as one of the worst sci-fi movies I have ever watched, it's only saving grace is the cgi which at times can be quite good, Neil Johnson the director must either have been on some mind altering drug or be just plain incompetent to allow the final result to go to the cutting room (where it all should have been cut). Jay Laisne who plays (and I use the term reservedly) the bungling captain Derasi Vorde is not only crushingly bad and unbelievable but also wooden and his childlike acting would not be out of place in a children's TV program.

The plot is boring and predictable, yet another species out to exterminate the human race to become dominant species in the universe (surely there are other more advanced races out there to concentrate on).

I thought it was a comedy when I first started watching it and had a laugh at it, but as the movie droned on I realised it was not meant to be funny and the laughter turned to cringing at every bad dialogue exchange, the idea of the last human being in existence is a fair one but this time it was done very badly and just does not ring true.

Sorry but unless you are at a loss to get to sleep at night do not watch this, but if you suffer from insomnia then by all means watch it.... you will be sleeping in no time at all.

    The Redbox special...

It's probably exactly what you expect..Rarely do films actually 'Surprise!' you these days...with all the hype given to any movie (regardless of how odd or bad) with a large budget, you get an idea of the movie...especially after a few reviews, what your friends say, and so on and so on....Well the same goes for these movies...the one's you 'Don't' hear about...You don't see the 'stars making the rounds on all thee late night talk shows, promoting their newest flick (& always pretending they have 'no-idea' what the clip is they brought with them)...So these films end up in the usual places...the bargain bins, the blockplaces will have a single copy (usually) and then there's Redbox...who unlike most places, let's you know upfront they have a mixture of the the best movies as they're released and tell you honestly that they have some genuine 'B'- movies...So, yeah, rent this one if you like sci-fi flicks, realizing it was done on a less than stellar budget and cut everyone involved with it some slack...The great thing about it is 'You might just find a real gem' among the 'B'-Movies available, but don't expect it...This has some good points and some low spots...But then again, keep in mind it had a 'B' budget too...

    Truly a dreafully poor movie

Humanity's End is literally one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It has a nearly incomprehensible plot, what little there is of it, about a future where there are constructs, neanderthals, nephilim, and biobots, robots, and regular humans. There is some war or something, and some groups fighting other groups. The story seems to revolve around a ship called the Blue Whale, or something like that, which looks a lot like a WW2 German Uboat on steroids.

There are space ships, gun fights, bombs, and explosions, all done is very poor special effects and with almost no meaning at all to what is happening. There also is a sperm carrying teddy bear. I kid you not.

The acting is very bad, but the script is worse. The extremely long and boring intro to the movie goes through some "lost history" of humanity. It is so convoluted and bizarre that it is not easily followed.

The characters are uneven and some suddenly change attitudes and styles right in the middle of the movie, without any explanation??!?? Truly poorly done.

I would give the movie zero stars, but that was not an option.

The only positive thing I can say about Humanity's End is that some of the background music was nice.
