The movie is based on a true story Will Smith plays Peter a captured slave who wants to get back to his family at any cost and Ben foster plays the role of a self proclaimed God who wants to hunt him down for escaping! Some great scenes and emotions along the way as they show Peters struggle to survive the deadly miles of swamp with his merciless evil masters chasing him and thinking of his family through out the uncomfortable ordeal gives him the courage to keep going.. Loved the background theme it really touches you this movie might not be for everyone but I say if you're a true movie lover you will appreciate Antoine Fuqua's attempt and the brilliance of Will Smiths portrayal of Peter the whipped slave.
