    You people are boring!!!

This episode is the reason I started watching the show. I'm not a guy who laughs easily but this one got me good. Whoever rates this below 9 should go back to watching Hannah Montana.

    A drop in quality

The string of excellent episodes through season 4 inevitably had to end, and so it does with 'Old King Clancy'. There are two story lines, of which none is truly great. Ted's story is the stronger one, as it leads to a major turn in the path of his career. The execution is quite solid, there are a few good laughs and some funny supporting characters. But it is also somewhat depressing without reaching the level of emotionality other influential events in the main characters' lives are usually hallmarked by in this series.

Robin's story is a harmless filler piece played for the laughs. It's funny and original if you watch the episode for the first time, but upon repeated viewing it doesn't really hold up.

The highlights of this episode are the recruitment of Marshall and Barney's "task force" at GNB and the introduction of Marshall's infamous fish-themed stand-up comedy.

    Another So So Episode

Plot In A Paragraph: Ted is still designing GNB's new headquarters, except Bilson is always slating his ideas. So Ted is relieved when a new executive committee without Bilson is overseeing the project for GNB. That relief is short lived when Ted learns that the project had been scrapped a month earlier. Ted eventually finds out that Marshall and Barney set up the new committee to keep Ted happy for the couple of months since he was still getting paid anyway. As this project was the only one he was working on for his architectural firm, Ted is afraid that he will be sacked. Meanwhile, Robin let's slip that she once had sex with a Canadian born celebrity with an unusual collection of memorabilia.

The Robin story seemed like a bit of filler, and whilst the Ted story had its moments, especially the CCTV footage of Barney sacking people, the full episode seemed a bit flat.
