Stranded astronauts Mac (Frank Aletter) and Hector (Jack Mullaney) search for aluminum ore needed to fix the intake valves of their spaceship. In doing so they come across a large statue of the cave people's sacred fire god. Hector moves a rock at its base that causes it to lean as if to fall. The astronauts try to keep the statue from falling, which Boss (Cliff Norton) and Clon (Mike Mazurki) observe to be them fighting with their god, making it angry. They feel the smoking volcano will now erupt as a result. They begin the seemingly weekly routine of threatening to kill Mac and Hector. If the volcano blows, so will the astronauts. The incidental music here is the same as highlighting a mysterious occurrence from the creator's, Sherwood Schwartz, other series "Gilligan's Island" and "The Brady Bunch". The volcano seems imminent to erupt and Mac comes up with the idea of dropping an explosive into the crater to head off the eruption. They pour highly-explosive nitroglycerin into a gourd, but it is accidentally switched with a gourd Shad (Imogene Coca) is cooking from. They realize the mistake when clumsy Hector makes Mac drop the gourd onto some rocks and it uneventfully oozes out. They make the switch as the volcano begins shooting fire and sending a tremor through the land. Familiarly, they are held prisoner guarded by Clon, yet sneak away. There's a comical scene when the men try to throw the nitro into the volcano.
The climax is absurd, but perhaps absurd enough to be comical. There is suspense and adventure in this engaging episode. This is the first episode that I noticed prominent incidental music from "Gilligan's Island" and it added to the enjoyment. The fun tunes effectively set the tone.
