Don't believe everything you read
I saw all the horrific reviews of this musical and nearly didn't bother watching it, then one day at home when I had some work to do on my computer I put it on in the background and within about 15 mins I had to stop working as I was really engrossed in it, mostly because of the songs. I cant believe how much people hate it. Yes it's highly dramatised and the accents are pretty questionable (I'm actually from England) but it has heart and is moving, not to mention quite a lot of the songs are so damn good! I was particularly impressed with Diana and Prince Charles's voices. I'm a bit if a musical theatre fan, I've seen nearly 150 musicals so I can appreciate the songs and how well they sing them. What people have to remember is it's subjective and we all like different things. That's what makes us unique. I don't particularly like Hamilton, most people love it, but I'm not going to review it and say how terrible I thought it was and how "you'll be back" is the only good song in it because to someone else it might be the best musical they've ever seen. I just don't get why you would tear something down so much that is really not that bad. If you appreciate musical theatre and especially catchy melodies (I still listen to it in my car now) then give it a go. You might just like it. I've recently seen all the nominations it got in the 42nd Golden raspberry awards. You've got to be kidding me? Over all of the films in the last year you thought Diana was the worst? That's laughable. For something you don't like you sure do speak about it a lot. Diana the musical should be appreciative of all the extra media you have given them. Thanks Razzies.
