In this review i will break it down into storyline, characters, and overall Storyline: The storyline was pretty simplistic. Yoda has to negotiate with Watto's race for a republic base. In order to do that he needs to pass a "test" of count dooku. The storyline is simple and lacks anything more than that simple premise but for Yoda's introduction, it works well because it brings out what a great Jedi Master he is to overcome the odds.
Characters: Who doesn't love Yoda? This episode once gain shows Yoda's ability to Mentor others (as a teacher) and also his ability to use the force (when he stopped ventress). The other characters were well done (clone troopers)in that it helped establish that the Jedi cannot overcome all odds without support. Of course the droids made the episode feel a little kiddish at time (especially the whole argument with them bringing the tanks into the reef). Ventress didn't do much here, but it worked with the storyline (not that she could have done anything against Yoda anyways)
Overall: The story was good, it worked well with Yoda and the connection he had with his troopers. Overall great introduction

Dear reader.
It was pretty good. I enjoyed it. I would recommend it.

The evolution of this show throughout these years are absolutely phenomenal. One of the best animated show ever, imo. Started as a good show ended as a masterpiece. I'll definitely recommend this to a Star Wars fan. You must watch this if you are to be thorough with the entire Skywalker Saga.
This episode perfectly set up the feeling of the entire series. It is a simple, contained story focusing Yoda and a group of Clones and the trials they must face. While nothing particularly special compared to the later episodes, it does its job well in establishing characters, tone and the groundwork for later development. It does particularly well with the Clones themselves, who are given individual personalities and defined as individual characters instead of variations of the same person, something the show would do very well as the seasons went on.
While nowhere near the best episode of the series or even cracking the top 10 for me, this is still a good episode and a good premier for the entire show.

This is a great, entertaining episode. Series 3 episode 3 actually is a prequel to this but is not required (although it gives a little background for extra enjoyment) and this features Yoda battling to bring another planet into co-operation with the republic while Dooku and Assajj Ventress try to get the planet's leader to join the separatists.
Yoda does some really cool battle scenes and strategy as well as delivering some really nice dialogue. It adds interesting depth that this series humanises the clone troops because it seemingly clashes with the way the clones behave in Revenge of the Sith but this all gets explained in later seasons. It adds to the overall story that the clones are shown as thoughtful, independent and sometimes rebellious men in Clone Wars. The scenes where Yoda motivates his clone companions is very enjoyable.
I love the lightsaber action with Yoda and there is a really nice confrontation with Ventress.
A very entertaining and well written episode.
My rating: 8.5/10.
