Vin Diesel, Donnie Yen, Deepika Padukone, Nina Dobrev, and Ruby Rose in xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017)

Goofs

xXx: Return of Xander Cage

Edit

Continuity

When Xander Cage's team first goes to the remote island, it is night. During the fight sequence, in the course of minutes, it becomes full daylight.
When Xander first meets Serena at the party on the island she is wearing a pair of thigh-length boots with very high heels; later, when we see her on the beach after the fight and motorbike chase, she is wearing boots of the same design, but now with a more practical flat heel.
In the final warehouse shootout Nicks's gun empties. The slide is backwards. This is very noticeable in the shadow of the gun on a wall. However, he immediately keeps shooting without first reloading.
Xander and Xiang escape on motorbikes that turn into jet-skis and take a lengthy route through jungle and over water, taking out some gun-toting goons who are on a sandbank for no obvious reason. Having sunk his bike Xander emerges from the waves and there is Serena on the beach, on her own. How did she get there? Then a minute later the rest of the gang magically appear too.
Xander is shot in the chest three times on the plane, but when he stands up after revealing he's wearing body armor, there are no bullet holes in his jacket.

Factual errors

Generally speaking, man-made satellites are too tiny and light to cause the kind of damage depicted in the movie in case of a sudden fall from the orbit. Unlike manned vehicles, the satellites are not designed to withstand the friction of reentry. While there's a possibility of parts reaching the surface, and even killing someone, most of the structure would simply fall apart and burn off in the atmosphere. A possible (and only) exception would be the International Space Station, due to its sheer size and strength.
Since satellites have to be as light as possible and the fact, that they are normally orbiting on stable orbits, their thrusters and fuel tanks are very small and only allow very limited movement such as evading space debris or redirecting. Even if all the remaining fuel would be directed to space, forcing the satellite towards earth, it would still take hours for it to actually reach the Earth's atmosphere.
When Jane Marke is presenting the airplane to Xander Cage, she claims that the airplane has been modified to "have enough fuel to circumnavigate the Earth three times without landing".

The airplane is a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III, which originally has a maximum fuel range of ~11 000 km, if it's (more or less) empty(this number is halved if there is any payload). To do this, the airplane needs ~134 500L of fuel. If it is going to circumnavigate the earth three times(~120 225km), it would require ~1,5 million liters of fuel, more than 10 times the original capacity. If they actually did add this amount of fuel (and fuel tanks) to the airplane, the airplane would have a takeoff weight of 132 000 metric tonnes, which is ~5 times max takeoff weight, and 1700 times the payload for the C-17.

Another point to this, is that the C-17 Globemaster III is capable of Air to Air refueling, meaning that they can, at least when it comes to fuel, fly indefinitely as long as they get AtA refuels.
At the beginning of the film when Xander jumps off the cell tower all the way to the ground, there is no way he would land and not at least break his legs if not die while lading on solid dirt on skis.
One of the first things that would burn away from a satellite on re-entry are the solar arrays as they are very fragile. The skin would be a very close second. Very few parts, such as the fuel tanks, survive the re-entry process.

Revealing mistakes

The engine of a motorcycle wouldn't keep running under water. Certainly it wouldn't be able to rev up as seen.

Miscellaneous

When Xander and his crew reach the bridge and get stuck in a stationary traffic jam, none of the cars in that jam appear to have drivers - the drivers' seats are empty.
When Becky Clearidge drops the machine gun during the warehouse action scene, it falls to the ground and starts firing in full auto. In order for this to happen, the trigger would need to be pressed or the gun fire control would had to break, which is very unlike to happen on such a small drop. In the early days of machine guns, they could fire once if dropped on the back of the receiver, but virtually all industrial quality machine guns made after WWII have a drop safety mechanism, this is certainly true for the MP-5K depicted in the movie.
Near the beginning of the movie, text is displayed on screen showing interesting and fun facts about each character. Tennyson Torch's facts include his longest lasting relationship: his rugby mouth-guard. The problem is, Tennyson's mouth-guard has a protruding strap with which to affix it to a helmet mounted face-guard, which is not used in the sport of Rugby.
After Xander's new team has boarded the airplane, the airplane is shown from the outside, flying. In this particular shot, the airplane is black, but in every other shot where you can see the plane, it has the standard gray color for military aircraft. The number on the airplane, 24342, does not change, however.

Plot holes

In the previous film, it was mentioned a couple of times that Xander was killed. No explanations are given in this film to the fact that he is alive.

Character error

When Xander and his team are viewing the footage of the attack earlier in the movie, Jane talks on her phone. You can see text messages on the phone and no active call actually going on.
