Vinnie Jones, Keith Allen, Craig Fairbrass, Roland Manookian, and Terry Stone in Rise of the Footsoldier: Origins (2021)

Review by djkbee

Rise of the Footsoldier: Origins

9/10

The second best movie of the franchise

Went to see this last night at my local odeon which was very busy, in fact the screening for Rise of the Footsoldier Origins was completely full from what i could see. Iv'e never seen a Footsoldier film in the theatre so this was a first.

This will be a short to the point review.

I went in with low expectations for this one as i feel the last few footsoldier movies were lackluster and on a decline. Don't get me wrong the previous films were fun and had their moments but they tend to be forgetable compared to the first film which is a absolute classic in UK cult cinema. In a nutshell this is not he case here, this is the second best footsoldier film without a doubt.

This movie feels like it deserves to be watched on the big screen.

The 80s setting and soundtrack is well executed and everything felt like it moved at the right pace. No complaints here!

The cast is fantastic across the board, i can't think of one weak link.

Terry Stone and Roland Manookian are a very funny double act as Tony tucker and Craig Rolfe. There were many laugh out loud moments which were appreciated in a packed odeon theatre.

Vinnie Jones was great in it to.

All in all this movie saved the franchise from dieing and topped the previous sequels.
