Pee-wee Herman
- [Pee-wee is searching the Playhouse for his Magic Glasses]
- Pee-wee Herman: I can't seem to find them anywhere.
- Chairry: Where was the last place you put them, Pee-wee?
- Pee-wee Herman: [sarcastically] If I knew that, Chairry, I'd know exactly where they were, wouldn't I? Say, you don't think somebody snuck in here and snatched them just to irritate me, do you?
- Chairry: Don't be paranoid, Pee-wee. Just stop and retrace your steps.
- Pee-wee Herman: Hey, that's a great idea! Thanks, Chairry.
- Chairry: You're welcome, Pee-wee.
- Derek: Reba, there's been a change of plans. We're going to go to the drive-in.
- Reba: The drive-in?
- Pee-wee Herman: Yeah! We're going to play drive-in right here in the Playhouse!
- Miss Yvonne: And we'll be your chaperones.
- Pee-wee Herman: And, uh... What do you do, Derek?
- Derek: Well, I'm a fireman.
- Pee-wee Herman: Oh. Well, that would explain why you're in the fireman's get-up, would it not?
- Derek: Yeah, right.
- Pee-wee Herman: So, uh... Where are you taking Reba, and when are you going to have her back home?
- Derek: Well, I was going to take her to the fireman's ball, but it got canceled on a count of fire.
- [Pee-wee stares at Derek]
- Derek: No. No. I'm not kidding. There really was a fire in the ballroom.
- Pee-wee Herman: Well, why didn't you put it out? You're a fireman, aren't you?
- Derek: I did, only now I have no idea where we're going to go for our date.
- Pee-wee Herman: Hmm. I've got an idea. Why not have your date right here.
- Derek: Well...
- Magic Screen: We can play drive-in, and I can be the screen.
- Derek: Well, I...
- Pee-wee Herman: Perfect! Then it's all settled! Ha ha!
- Reba: For a long time now, I've had a secret crush on this handsome fireman. His name is Derek. I see him on my postal route.
- Miss Yvonne: Oh, a secret crush. How romantic.
- Reba: And he's asked me on a date tonight.
- Miss Yvonne: A date with Derek? That's even more romantic!
- Reba: I really like this guy, and I'm really nervous.
- Miss Yvonne: Don't you worry. You're in the hands of a charm school graduate. Just remember. Be pleasant, smile, and laugh at his jokes, even if they're teensie weensie jokes. Be supportive, and laugh like this.
- [laughs]
- Miss Yvonne: Oh, Derek, it's so funny.
- [Pee-wee and the other Playhouse denizens are eavesdropping on the conversation]
- Pee-wee Herman: [to Globey, laughing sarcastically] Oh, Globey, it's so funny, I forgot to laugh.
