I don't mean the episode was disgusting as a whole, or disgusting meaning the episode was bad, but the villain is perhaps the most evil villain this show has produced in its 5 seasons. The way he was evil made me cringe the entire episode and I just can't fathom how anyone could do that to people, or how anyone could survive it.
This isn't your typical Cold Case episode, from a structure point of view. We know who the criminal is from the very beginning. I would say this episode is closer to the Without a Trace structure than Cold Case.
It's not a bad episode. It's just one that is hard to watch and really makes you think. I don't think I could watch it again.

Watching the constant reruns and still can't get enough of this show. All the reality TV bologna and others alien stuff on TV is such a waste! Why don't you bring a good show like this back. And this episode was absolutely the best! It was creepy all the way through because the killer this time was so evil. Loved it! Bring good shows like this back
This show has often dealt with some dark concepts like the hunter serial killer arc or various child victims. This episode, however, is uniquely compelling. Damon Harriman, who is generally typecast as some sort of weirdo, gives a masterfully disturbing performance. His levity and joviality contrasted with his horrific and twisted crimes create a very off putting creepy tone (think of a character such as Heath Ledger's Joker). Rather than cheaply dramatic, most of the episode has a mounting tension that makes the skin crawl. My only criticism is this story could definitely have have been a two-part arc to allow for more exposition of the characters and really give it a cinematic effect (altho this is maybe more applicable in the streaming era than its original TV release). That said, one of the best crafted episodes of this show.
I thought this episode was pretty good. It had a really creepy vibe throughout the entire episode that got you thinking about what was going to happen next and how all the subtleties of the episode were connected.
The only issue was throughout the entire episode, you had this weird feeling that it was something you had seen before, and there's a good chance you might have. There were a lot of elements of the movie Se7en in it. For example (I'm not giving anything away, what I'm about to say is apparent in the first 10 minutes), while Lily and Scotty are transporting the guy, they try too hard to recreate the dynamic in the police car with Morgan Freeman (Lily), Brad Pitt (Scotty), and the guy (Kevin Spacey). Also, the name of the guy is very similar to Spacey's character.
Overall, a pretty good episode. Not my all time favorite but definitely up there.
