It was filmed in a real Italian restaurant, called Villa Napoli at The Glendale Hotel, Penarth.

Goofs
When Gavin and Stacey are greeted at the airport by Gavin's parents a female in a pink top & white / grey pants, and a male with a cream top and blue jeans walk past. A couple of seconds later these same two people walk by again and go ahead of the group. In the next scene these same two people are now behind the group as they're walking.
