Is this some sort of a joke?

So now our detective solves crimes through hallucinations and dreaming. It took this show only 11 episodes to go from "story of a detective seeking evidence and using science to solve crimes" to the "story of a detective that solves crimes through having hallucinations and dreaming things up with help of a psychic".

Also, my local high school's theater club has better acting than all the actors in this show combined. They should have hired real actors for this show instead of those people who have as much acting skills as a fruit tree. I guess they didn't have enough budget to afford real actors so they had to settle.

    Murdoch Jumps the Shark

S1, Episode 11 is an unfortunate deviation from this series' founding premise - crimes should be solved using science-based evidence instead of emotions, hunches, pseudo psychic nonsense, or beating a confession out of someone. Murdoch Mysteries came along a few years after the acclaimed U. S. TV series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and initially copied its logic-based approach to solving crimes. What sets Murdoch Mysteries apart from other run-of-the-mill procedural detective series is the very interesting time-period it is set in where all kinds of new thinking was occurring based upon scientific discoveries. (Not to mention, being set in Canada at the turn of the previous century is also quite intriguing.) However, CSI's Gil Grissom continually coached his team to stop speculating, but instead to "follow the evidence". Some of CSI's best episodes involved starting with an apparent case of urban legend, but then debunking it with evidence and rational logic. As much as I enjoy other episodes of Murdoch Mysteries, this silly episode with its credulous acceptance of on-demand psychic fortune telling really 'jumped the shark'. S1, E4 featuring Arthur Conan Doyle (who really did believe in fairies and such) was much more even-handed in exposing tricks that psychic charlatans use. Perhaps some of them complained to the producers that it hurt their business (and it is a business) to be exposed. Whatever, the writers of S1, E11 should be ashamed of this piece of rubbish.

    Arrows kill their victims

Different people are being killed by a person in a dark hood and no one seems to know why.

The first victim the police find has 3 arrows in the back. He writes on a stone with his blood the letter Wy. The police try to find out if this is a place, an event or part of a person's name.

Murdoch is not getting anywhere with this case. A woman contacts him that says she knows about these killings and Murdoch is going to be one of the victims.

There is a lot suspense in this episode. Murdoch starts to use this medium as a plant in a home that studies the brain.

The series to me has a lot of mystery but hypocritical. Murdoch makes these fast, fake "Sign of the Cross" like a Catholic or Priest like when he gets emotional when he sees a badly hurt person or a dead one but, he gets involved in other things that go against the religion he professes like using mediums an occult religion and listens to their advice. The writers of the show confirm the occult information as credible and believable which I do not believe.

So fake is fake and real is real. Just know this series is based on a detective named Murdoch and not a character who masks as a Catholic.

The good thing about the series is most episodes have a lot of mystery, no swearing, no sexual innuendos.

When Murdoch is questioning Richard Binney about a murder, Murdoch asks if Binney had been in the same room as Nathaniel Horton. Binney says yes, so Murdoch then asks "Did you see who killed him?" However, it was Andrew Nesbitt who had just been killed, not Horton.
