The Good Sisters

Everyone who reviewed this film is definitely working for the movie because there is almost no redeemable value to this garbage. The story sucks! The acting is amateurish. The camera work and editing are horrible and jumpy. Even the nudity is shot so badly with almost no light that it took the fun away from seeing these two gorgeous ladies showing you their amazing bodies. What can I say besides avoid this piece of trash at all cost.

I'm currently watching my screener copy of "The Good Sisters" for the second time no less-- and I can honestly say--I can't get enough of this flick!!! This is one of those few "gems" that make wading through the indie DVD scene worth it!! Instead of the "splatstick" route, Director JimmyO crafted a mature, creepy, paranoid throwback to classic 70's occult cinema (I still love Chainsaw Sally--don't get me wrong--this is just in a different, somehow darker vein--if that makes sense). April Monique Burril and Debbie Rochon really show some serious acting chops/range (besides being smoking hot and wearing fantastically sexy outfits!!), and create such a paranoid/claustrophobic vibe in the scenes in the darkened apartment that it's literally "edge of your seat" viewing in points! I can't wait to get ahold of the full blown DVD release with all of the extras, and I also can't wait to see what these two have in store for season 2 of the Chainsaw Sally Show---but I digress, run, don't walk to get a copy of The Good Sisters when it drops, it's indie cinema at it's finest

This is the third film from Jimmyo Burril, having been preceded by a horror musical titled SILVER SCREAM and the cult classic CHAINSAW SALLY. Jimmyo is currently writing, directing, editing, and putting out a web sitcom, sequel of sorts, to Chainsaw Sally titled The Chainsaw Sally Show. The Good Sisters is a departure from the campy, cheesy, good slasher fun that is Chainsaw Sally. It is a departure into a darker and more sinister horror and Jimmyo makes that journey beautifully. The story is well written, the characters are developed and have greater depth than any of the Chainsaw Sally characters. The film's technical merits are outstanding, from lighting, to sound, to overall excellent cinematography and a killer score. Jimmyo's departure from the "HGL-ish blood and guts campiness", in my opinion, is a success.

Debbie Rochon. Need I say more? Debbie Rochon is a phenomenal actor and the ultimate Scream Queen today. Her portrayal of Breanne Good is no exception. April Monique Burril is given a character with considerable more depth as Kindra Good and she rises to that challenge and performs beautifully along side Debbie. It must have been quite a pleasure for April to have co-starred Debbie and Debbie to star along side April. Two very diverse actors come together to pull a performance believable as long time friends or kin.

The Good Sisters. A movie about witches.. or maybe ultra-paranoid meth addicts who think they're witches. It's hard to tell. Bad acting. Bad scenery. Appalling dialog being clumsily chunked out. "Surrealistic" scenes that make you wonder if you've been slipped some bad acid. Plot weak and clumsily clichéd at best. Inexplicable ending. Overall dumb. There IS one laugh in this film but I'm afraid it's too little too late. I personally love bad movies and weird odd stuff and I can usually find something to appreciate in a terrible movie.. I had extreme difficulty with The Good Sisters. Kudos to anyone who can cringe their way through this thing.
