The characterization of the sleepy Pennsylvania town (which looks like the backdrop for "Frankenstein") as a hotbed of supernatural activity surrounding an Oktoberfest celebration gives credence to the story that includes a poor Lugosi impersonation as Dracula, an unseen werewolf and a mummy that comes to life in the town's museum. Definitely a fun show that steps outside the series' sometimes overwrought seriousness.
Full disclosure: I am from that small town, Canonsburg, PA, and it does have an Oktoberfest, it's definitely steeped in 1950-70 architecture, it does not have a natural history museum and it does have a few people who look like they stepped out of a 1930's horror film. And it has a statue of hometown favorite Perry Como in front of the Borough Building.
A mockery on it's own nature.
Watch for a cheap laugh or skip to the next episode. It doesn't affect the story much and tries to have depth at times but doesn't quite justify.
X-Files anyone?
Not the best episode of the series, but it still was funny as hell. The acting was not as (intentionally) bad as "The Post-Modern Prometheus". So it didn't really feel like an old monstermovie.
Not much special effects, so it looked just like a normal episode, but in black and white.
Because it is part of a great series I gave it 6 out of 10.

- Quotes
Dean Winchester: Well, look at me. I mean, I came back from the furnace without any of my old scars, right? No bullet wounds, knife cuts, none of the off-angle fingers from all of the breaks - I mean, my hide is as smooth as a baby's bottom. Which leads me to conclude, sadly, that my virginity is intact.
Sam Winchester: What?
Dean Winchester: I've been re-hymenated.
Sam Winchester: Re - Please. Dean, maybe angels can pull you out of hell, but no one could do that.
Dean Winchester: Brother! I have been re-hymenated. And the dude will not abide!
- Crazy creditsThe opening credits are done in classic "Monster Movie" style
