    Not bad

Not a bad film, a little better than the 5.0 suggests. A good blend of characters let down only by the fact they cover every dynamic of person possible, amusing & easy storyline to follow & two or three hilarious moments. Nothing overtly great about it, but so long as you put aside the following flaws well worth a watch: 1) It's difficult to believe an entire bus full of people could all mistake Newcastle under Lyme for Newcastle, for too long we never had an understanding of where the bus was.

    2) The timeline of the film & the emphasis on the opening scene (with the West Ham fans) was a peculiar angle to take. There were half-a-dozen scenes of more significance than that one (even including moments at either end of that scene). Why it was deemed that important to the film I don't know - even characters within it, never crop up again, yet have the lines to open the film & are deemed the main cast.

    3) For a comedy there were a few segments with little humour - deliberately so - more character driven scenes, but at odds with the rest of the film.

But all in all, a good effort, you'll see a lot worse films of this type, than this.

    Amazing

Amazing film. One to sit down and watch with the family.

    Underrated funny comedy !!

I feel this film has been underrated by many people, after all it is meant to be a comedy and not a true to life story, I have read some other reviews that appear to compare the movie and characters to real life situations but I feel the intention was not to mimic true facts and make a movie filled with amusing characters instead

I first watched this expecting it to be a lot worse than it was so was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be a pretty funny movie; some of the characters are hilarious.

Parts of the storyline were predictable, but even so it did not take away from the fact it was a funny movie well worth watching.

A Carry On film without the Carry On!

Started well for about 10 minutes, then It disintegrated into unfunny caricatures, sloppy dialogue and endless inane chatter. The best thing I can say about this film is it was boring...and the character of Terry was the most boring of the lot. I hope the guys behind it don't ever try their hand at movie making again, but if they do they should stick to home movies and keep it exclusively for their families eyes!

My 322nd Review: Empty vessels make most noise...

The Shouting Men is a comedy that tries to be a classic British working class slice of life comedy but is full of characters that are pretty much caricatures. The only words we could think of to describe this is weak - it is an an uneasy mix of weak comedy and caricatures of people that wouldn't possibly be real.

The plot of a bus load of supporters sharing a min-bus(Completely demographic: Race, Age, Gender, Disability: all boxes ticked; and I started to feel like I was being manipulated (and doing community service)) is fairly tragic, and whiles there's some good thinking, the script is way too frantic and way way too maudlin and truly lacks definition.

This would have worked so much better as a buddy movie - there are way too many characters and it just falls flat trying to juggle all the story lines. If the two main characters has had a road trip and met these people along the way it might just have been watchable - but then again...(I may be on my own here, as I write this it's got 16 votes and 8.2, so what do I know?)

All in all, a crashing disappointment, very few laughs, the drama is very heavy-handed, and worse, blatantly manipulative, and is massively guilty of being unable to find either its real heart or the heart of the beautiful game.
