For the director of this short movie that is. It played at the Berlin International Film Festival, right before another movie (End of Love)and both are thematically linked. Since I don't read anything before I go into a movie, therefor making it sort of a Sneak Preview experience for me, I didn't know that this short film was based on actual events (if you type the film title into google you'll find the "bridge" and the story this is based on).
The event that happened is more or less used by telling it in a fictional story. The director himself told the audience after the movie ended, that he was deeply affected after he read about the incident in the newspaper (I won't go into that, so it won't spoil the story), sadly though he can't convince any real emotional depth to the characters, not mentioning any emotional reaction from the audience. Whether I would have read about the story or watched this, I would have been more affected if I had about it. But it's a short movie and a learning stone, so maybe the director can use his experiences from this and make something out of it
