The Gang Leader and The Firefighter

Dr. Lightman's office is hired to resolve two cases. Cal and Torres have to find whether the gang-leader Manny Trillo may be released from prison or not. He claims that he has read many books in prison and becomes another man, capable to help to reduce crime in the city talking to other gangs. A board will analyze whether he may be freed on parole or not. Torres is skeptical with his change and Dr. Lightman has doubts. When the widow of his victim defends Manny, Cal and Torres question the woman's attitude. Meanwhile, Foster and Loker investigate whether a young black fireman died in a fire by accident or was killed by one of his fellow colleagues.

"Unchained" is another great episode of "Lie to Me". Regarding the case of the the gang-leader on parole or not, I think the same way of Torres. I do not believe that a long time criminal is capable to be socially recovered with the existing prison systems. The case of the firefighter, the prejudice of the firemen is not shown in "Chicago Fire", for example, and seem to be more realistic. My vote is eight.

    Title (Brazil): "Unchained"

Troy Winbush (Wallace) and Kelli Williams (Gillian Foster) previously worked together in Medical Investigation (2004-2005).
    • Goofs
When firefighter David Caddick was being interviewed, he stated that he was running low on oxygen. Firefighters don't use oxygen while working a fire, they use a self contained breathing apparatus often called a "Scott Pack". A Scott Pack uses filtered compressed air, not oxygen, stored in a tank and is similar to SCUBA gear.
