Comedown

OK, I get why this Comedown only rated a 4.6 here at IMDb, as it is true it's a stock premise, that is, teenagers somehow exposed getting hunted down one by one in the tradition of numerous other slasher flicks. I'm giving it a 10. Comedown is a truly excellent slasher flik. The psychopath is truly creepy, and chillingly prepared for his night of slaughter, and the Director's handling of how he is introduced carefully scene by scene is a championship of editing. The murders are brilliant, each one carefully choreographed, with great shock value. Some classic horror images here. The tension is palpable. Even before the kids are in danger the delicate dynamics of their social wiles just kind of screams 'this is trouble'. It was a great way to lead in. The actors are all accomplished. The characters themselves are not easy to enjoy, but they are very authentic, helped along by a jabbing script. Then there is the grand set itself, with the lighting and texture throughout being powerful. The sense of danger is just screaming off the walls. This movie has all the heart pounding guts of a really, really outrageous dare, and I loved every minute.

Comedown is a horror movie filmed in the UK about a group of teens who go into an abandoned apartment tower and end up being terrorized by a killer. The film starts out pretty slow. It takes about 30 minutes for something to finally happen, which seems to be consistent with most of the horrors I've watched in the past few weeks. As much as I love movies and television that comes from the UK, sometimes the accents are really hard to understand. This is one of those movies. Although Comedown takes a while to get going, it gets better, but not by much. It's your basic "trapped in a place while a killer as he picks off all the characters, one by one" type of films. Some of the killings are pretty good, but it still falls pretty short of originality. I did appreciate the scene where one of the girls fights back really hard, that was probably my favorite scene, although it was pretty short. I would say that Comedown is a "take it or leave it," type thriller/horror. Overall, it's just OK.

First of all, I didn't watch the trailer of the movie since I stumbled upon this movie by accident when I was searching for something to watch in IMDb. Eventually, it wasn't a nice movie and I didn't really enjoy it. The movie synopsis was very interesting and kinda mysterious, but it wasn't innovative because there are too many movies similar to this one. The storyline wasn't well-written, nor well-explained and it was very simple. The characters weren't interesting, nor well-developed and they were super annoying. The casting choices were just fine, but their performances weren't nice. In my opinion, the highlight of the movie was definitely the killcount, since the kills were very bloody and brutal. At least, it was a kinda intense movie, but there weren't any action-filled moments. Last but not least, the ending was absolutely predictable and it was just fine. Overall, "Comedown" wasn't a nice slasher film, not scary, kinda boring, but the kills were awesome. So, I'm not sure if I would recommend it to my friends...

I would like to start by saying the only reason this movie made it to 3 stars, is solely because it has Jessica Barden. I actually enjoyed the acting and setting in this movie, everything else pretty much missed the mark. I want to say the directing in this movie wasn't good. It seemed fairly predictable and not very suspenseful. I feel like I already knew what was going to happen before it happened. The story had potential but lacked so much detail that it was hard to understand why things were happening. I think it is worth the watch, but only if it's out of boredom, not to entertain.

So as it seems, already people agreed that there's nothing new here, nothing original, nothing outstanding, even more, you're going to find what you've already seen 1000 times.

Even so, movies like this could be enjoyable, yet, not this one, it's too dull, you have to wait for a loooong time for anything to happen and when it finally does...I don't know, it's dull, it's just dull. Now, a budget of £2,000,000 kinda takes you out of the indie section right? Therefore, you can't say you love it for the fact that is small, made with extra love and people might just find it in their hearts to like it! Only reason to enjoy it is if you're a fan of the director, cause he returned with one guy from his previous movies, so I guess it's safe to say you wanted to take a look further into their careers, you found this little gem, and there you have it, you're satisfied!

As a huge horror fan, I might say,I watched it with my gf, we both got bored, she even left the room, I almost prayed for the movie to end sooner, but it didn't. Therefore, it's all up to you, do as you please, watch it or don't; my opinion --> DON'T! You can do a lot better than this one!
