I really want to like the new series,but...
I was cautiously optimistic about bringing back a great show. I used to be the lone family member that watched and loved the quirky old Night Court on right after Cheers and obviously you cannot bring back the old cast members that have passed on, but I don't remember the show being overly socially progressive and never politically correct, but remember the old show as more of a satire about life in the big city with a lot of sarcasm and edgy humor. Everyone is a little too polite. Most of the new cast is pretty good, just the writing isn't edgy or funny like the past. Marsha Warfield and Richard Mull and certainly Harry Anderson are irreplaceable, but Melissa Rauch is a pretty good fit to take over. Where's the Bull like character?
