Just isn't up to the mark.
The first thing I remembered when production of the TV Series was announced was reading The Brass Verdict by Michael Connelly maybe more than a decade ago, having loaned the Book from my local library. So impressed by the storyline I finished reading maybe in a day or two. After watching Bosch and its brilliant casting of Titus Welliver, I was eagerly looking forward to TV iteration of the Lincoln Lawyer. Since Matthew Mcconaughey portrayed Mickey Haller in the movie, expectation was obvious high for this series.
After end of the first episode, I felt casting Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as the lead character was a bit underwhelming or rather something had gone missing. But I tried to convince myself maybe there is some potential in store in the upcoming episodes. However, even by the end of the series there was still more to be desired.
The script and direction is not as crisp as the book. In the series Goliath, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo had acted as an antagonist and had done a decent job. I found the accent of Cisco sounded artificially husky. It just didn't feel natural.
Other actors who portrayed Lorna, Maggy, the judge and others did a decent job in my opinion. The courtroom representation was great.
Overall, the TV series it a 6.5/10. Looking forward for a more punchy and convincing second season.
