A team of 20 hand picked Essex police officers form the county's Interceptors and are out looking for road users who break the law.

Mark Hemingway and Ian Flynn from the Laindon team, with the assistance of the helicopter air support team, set out to apprehend a gang attempting to break into a jeweller's shop. Russ Jardine and Mark Hemingway lie in wait for a stolen van entering Essex county from Hampshire and Roger Watson and Sgt. Dan Barnes collar fuel thieves who have been syphoning diesel from parked lorries.

The Laindon team receive a call for assistance in pursuing a stolen car that has driven off without paying for petrol. The driver is a known troublemaker and more backup is needed. A stolen Porsche is caught on the ANPR camera but it goes to ground in a huge car park next to a music festival. Dave Wheeler and Steve Tisseyre follow a suspect Corsa - it's not the car they were looking for but the driver is giving a false name and date of birth. Steve and Ian from the Laindon team stop a car with four females suspected of shoplifting.

PCs Mike 'Biggers' Bignell and Mark Russell pull over a car they think is being driven by four men they suspect are cannabis users. The county's air support Eurocopter is called in to help track a fleeing driver suspected of threatening a Police Constable with a gun, and kidnapping. Chigwell's Steve 'Tizzy' Tisseyre and Mark Turner chase a stolen Ford Focus on the A13. The driver has no intention of stopping as he has recently escaped from jail and has committed five armed robberies.

Paul Bignell and Steve Syrett pursue a stolen Lexus aided by the air support Eurocopter. A stolen Mini Cooper carrying four dangerous shoplifters is cornered at Thurrock's Lakeside shopping complex, a high-speed pursuit results in a head-on collision with one of the team's vehicles and Shaun Gurney and Grant Snow deal with an Essex girl whose pink car's fake number plates are 'too sexy' for the law.

A car is stolen at gunpoint but when trying to evade two pursuing Interceptors at over 100 mpg the car crashes and the armed and dangerous gang try to make a run for it. Mike Bignall and Grant Snow are on the lookout for a suspected stolen Ford Fiesta and on a stakeout the team capture a gang of four burglars with stolen property found in the car. The Interceptor helicopter, police cars and an armed response unit are pursuing a people carrier carrying two men who, three months earlier, had stolen a significant amount of money from a security van.
