I enjoyed this movie. The cheapness didn't bother me at all except for the pop gun shootout at the bar. This looked and sounded like 5-year- olds playing cops and robbers instead of a supposedly violent gangster related gunfight. But the rest didn't really require a huge budget. Another Ryan Cavelline contemplation of God and good and evil this time played out by a gangster (very well played by Adam Berasi) who is on the run from his former cohorts and hiding in a trailer in the woods. There he meets several forces human or otherwise who make him confront his choices in life. One excellent effect at the end and several silly but still effective effects near the end. Many twists and turns and surprises make you reevaluate what has previously happened. In this money saving time, Cavalline gets every penny's worth from this film from the cheap effects to the hard working small cast. I would much rather watch a movie like this then an overblown predictable Hollywood movie with state of the art special effects.
It started bad. Very talentless. Action film. Incoherent script, lame acting, no b00bs.
Has editing issues, and terrible audio. Looks like a bunch of uni-people made a school-project. 50% boring shooting, 50% Evil Dead, 100% Jesus.
Religious cinema again doesn't work, especialy when it tries to rip off something, this time Evil Dead for its 2nd half. The only original idea here is, that Jesus is Satan amongst the crepe papare zombie and the confetti chewing zombie.

This movie starts out like a gangster film and the horror elements only kick in midway through. Jimmy is a ruthless gangster, who will even kill innocents to cover his tracks. He has promised his wife that he will only deal with the mob one more time. He has a plan to make off with a fortune of their money and start a fresh life for himself and his wife. Things don't seem to go to plan.
It seems to take a bit of an age to get going, with very few horror elements. At the half way point things change and the horror comes thick and fast. Zombies invade the screen. I found the effects of the shoot outs pretty annoying as this is achieved with CGI shots coming from the ends of the guns. There is a fair bit of gore by the end and some of this was quite well handled. I did find one of the CGI effects quite good. Music is mostly of the rock variety so this suited me down to the ground.
Story made an attempt to be original and it kept me guessing to the end. Acting is OK for this type of production. Never really outstays it's welcome. The running time is 1 hr and 2 minutes. Less than an hour if you do not count the end credits.

I love low budget movies, even the ones shot on video or shot on backyard and i have to agree with raymio17 review: "I would much rather watch a movie like this then an overblown predictable Hollywood movie with state of the art special effects." I admire the work of Ryan Cavalline, he makes good movies, with a low budget.
Demon Slaughter starts as a gangster movie, but then the "horror" elements will appear, the plot is pretty original.
There are many "twists" when the "horror" part starts.
It's a personal favorite, so i don't think that many people out there will like this one.

Wow, what must I say, the story is crap urban horror crap directed by a WHITE person with stereotypes acting ghetto, the effects are so cheesy and awful, it like they used Chris' editing software without permission, the acting is god-awful, it like they were
bored and was paid 1,000,000 dollars but cared less, the title is misleading, there is no slaughter NOR demon slaughter, its just
more zombie filler with only one demon who looks like someone dressed up for Halloween. It's shot on video so the lightning will be a pain in the neck. All horrors suck anyway so what's the point. So bottom line: DO NOT WATCH DEMON SLAUGHTER IN ANY POINT IF YOU'RE A FAN OF LOW BUDGET HORROR.
