Definition of Toxic relationship
I'm writing a review because I think there are some
unfair reviews out there. The show is good, emotionally draining but good. I watched it mainly because I was invested in the characters and seeing where they would go. Would they mature, change or realize they've been lied to? The plot isn't super ground breaking but keeps you engaged, again mainly because the actors act so well within their characters. I really dislike both the main leads. Lucy because she's too weak, entitled and honestly plain stupid at times and definitely not a good friend. As for Stephen he is a literal psychopath, a manipulative liar and just awful person- honestly can't see how any of the girls on this show would like him but I guess that's the point of the show-being so blinded by love you don't see a sleaze ball even if he's staring you in the eye. I read the book by Carola Lovering and there's no happy ending in it really, karma or payback for what Stephen does. Show is exactly the same- so it's not a feel good show. It was so irritating to watch him destroy literally everyone's life around him and not get caught. I've never hated a character more, other than Cersei or Joffrey on GOT, so maybe it's good writing or acting or just story. I wouldn't pass on this show but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it either; unless your dating a jerk and need to see this to open your eyes. Beware and remember you can't lie to yourself.
