Thriller parody, or just a poorly written thriller? Hard to tell with this one
This show was just so cheesy and poorly written that it was hard to take serious, yet it was not until the last two episodes that it became all too clear that this was the purpose from the start. It just takes a turn that is so dumb and bizarre you realize this has to be a parody. The problem here is that the clichés and absurdity through out the show was never actually funny.
Rather than actually seeming like the point was to make fun of over-used mystery genre tropes (which I suppose was the intention), it just came across as an extremely poorly written mystery story, for the most part. There are plot points and twists that are so weird and dumb they'll have you thinking this can't be serious, but for the most part it actually seems like this show is taking itself as seriously as any other thriller and just doing a really bad job in the writer's room.
The show itself isn't directly boring, but certainly isn't very good either. It's hard to wrap your head around what they were actually trying to achieve here.
