Take a shot every time they make an overly religious metaphor, or quote the Bible. Drunk is the only way to watch this movie. *(note: please don't play this drinking game, you will get alcohol poisoning) Its utterly awful. The reviews are the best part about it! Stale acting Horrid scrip Horrendous soundtrack And I cannot begin to describe how plainly awful the special effects are. The only thing scenes I could stand to watch, were those with Iggy because he was the most normal one in it AND HE IS IN LEAGUE WITH THE DEVIL. A waste of £3. As if the tescos horse meat scandal wasn't enough.
If you want to watch something with better drama and acting watch episodes of doctor Who from the 70s, at least the special effects are better.

I have never seen a more disappointing movie, i bought it from tesco thinking it would be a good children's fantasy adventure but when I started to watch it I realised it was the complete opposite. From the awful actors to the tacky costumes. I haven't got a clue what time zone it is meant to be because most of the adults have old fashion clothing like top hats but then there is robots and modern buildings. Scince when do cowboys happen to have two swords. I know £3 seems cheap but for this movie i felt very ripped of, my family and thought it was made by a drama club with a normal camera. My brother who is 7, my sister who is 10, me 14 and my mum and dad found it funny that it was so rubbish and tacky.
This film is known as 'Adventures of Chris Fable' here in the UK - available only through Tesco but can i just say do not bother paying the £3.
I have seen some really poor films - husband and son love all those really poor B-films - yet this is the really the worst. I realise its based on pilgrims progress but the acting, storyline, effects in fact everything is really poor.
I cannot agree with ANY of the previous reviews, maybe i'm not 'christian' enough!! Earlier reviewer said something along lines of 'developing pilgrim progress into action packed film, which is not an easy thing to do - but they've managed!!!' NO THEY HAVEN'T. It actually feels like it was made with a Sunday school, 1 camera and some kid doing special effects on his laptop!!

I didn't pay a huge amount for this DVD but still think I was ripped off. Yes, I grant that trying to make a modern film version of the Pilgrim's Progress, which after all is over 400 years old, was never going to be easy. However, sadly the message that should have been conveyed was beaten into submission by the truly appalling acting. And as for the "breathtaking" special effects - no one in my family saw any. On the plus side, I went to sleep for about 40 minutes in the middle of the film, thereby wasting less time than the rest of my family. My 6 year old didn't mind it too much, but my 11 year old said it was rubbish. Don't waste your time.
I put this on for my family based on a "friend's" recommendation. This movie cleared the room faster than a farting lion! If I could have given it zero stars I would have. Anyone giving this a good review is either a Christian with an agenda, someone involved in the making of it, or someone prancing you in to watching it. The special effects were awful. I should have known something was up when the DVD started and my stereo switched automatically to Dolby Pro Logic. Really? In 2010! Since this is IMDb and this should be a legitimate review, I will add that we watch a lot of eclectic movies and enjoy everything from Hollywood blockbusters to early Guy Richie films and foreign features. I appreciate irony, allegory, movies being deliberately camp, etc. This is not that! It is simply an awful movie that, if not for the Christian slant and backing, would never have made it to basic cable let alone to a theater or on to DVD.
