I think this is what happens when you try to adapt a perfectly good, engaging "YA" novel to be adapted to be an adult story. It's a pretty good story that pretty much has the same story. It just is so completly different from the book that it is like it's from a different source. The series is not bad, I'm just amazed at how different it is from the book. I'm 7 episodes in and I like it for the most part if I suspend the knowledge I have of the book. It's weird to see the same story played out in 2 different ways with different characters and existing characters being totally rewritten. I just wonder if the author signed off on this before or after he got paid...
