The funniest movie we've watched in years
I don't understand how people couldn't enjoy this, but then humor is subjective. Maybe the problem is that nostalgia played such a strong role in the movie itself since it was set in 1962-3. But we thought the writing was strong, the casting was perfect, the dialogue was sharp and witty and the comedic timing was excellent. It was all over the top and silly, but in the best of ways. People like Hugh Grant, Christian Slater, Peter Dinklage and others hit just the right notes in walking the comedic line, and scenes like the utterly absurd funeral had us rolling.
We were also floored when we got to the end and realized that this managed to be that funny and was for the most part incredibly family friendly.
I hope Seinfeld does more films. I have to be honest and say I never watched his show except once or twice because I didn't enjoy it. This movie though was one I'll be watching again.
