Really great ep where Brenda does something she never does

I won't spoil it, but this is a really great ep. The guest star is really great, Kyra's daughter does an outstanding job, and Brenda does something that to my best memory is singular for the run of the series. Well worth watching.

The Best Episode in the Series

This episode is so good and intense. Pause it! Don't walk away from it. The acting is great, including Sosie Bacon as Brenda's niece, Charlie. It was a family affair with Kevin Bacon directing as well.

I've seen every episode multiple times and this still ranks as the best episode of the series for me.

    Brilliant!

I find, in general, the writing for The Closer to be some of the absolutely smartest and most brilliant of any TV show! Shows like Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blue and Law and Order, have continually raised the bar for smart "who dunnit" detective dramas, and The Closer, and in particular, this episode, leap over that bar so high, that it hardly seems possible! Everything about this episode, the writing, acting, etc., is simply brilliant. I have fallen in love with this series, and this episode, in particular, is the epitome of what a superior detective TV drama can be. Appealing on so many levels, especially intellectually, make this a "must see" show.
