Dr. Donald 'Ducky' Mallard: [Entering Gibbs's basement] Jethro, forgive the intrusion.
[notices the boat is missing from the basement]
Dr. Donald 'Ducky' Mallard: How did you possibly manage to -?
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: Aw geez, Duck. You gonna ask me that every time?

Special Agent Timothy McGee: I can't believe I'm telling you this. Tony's going to kill me.
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: Not if Mossad gets to him first.
Special Agent Timothy McGee: Well, you don't think the Director's going to just hand him over?

Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: Got a problem, McGee?
Special Agent Timothy McGee: You mean apart from Tony killing Ziva's friend and Ziva's apartment blowing up? No. No problem at all.
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: Good. Then shoot.

Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: Doesn't add up. DiNozzo's more a brawler. Rivkin was kidon.
Dr. Donald 'Ducky' Mallard: Ah, I thought you'd never ask.

Officer Ziva David: [Referring to DiNozzo] I'm not sure we can work together. Perhaps it is best if one of us gets transferred to another team.
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: Transferred?
Officer Ziva David: I need to be able to trust the people that I work with. I know you more than anyone understand that.
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: [pause. Kisses Ziva on the cheek] Take care of yourself.

Dr. Donald 'Ducky' Mallard: I know this decision must not have come easily.
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: It wasn't my decision.
Dr. Donald 'Ducky' Mallard: But Tony said...
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: No, it was Ziva's. From the moment she asked me to choose.

NCIS Director Leon Vance: I know you don't want to hear this, Gibbs. But now, you have to trust me. And if you're right about Ziva's alligence to you, she'll serve us well in Mossad.
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: Yeah, and if you're right about her father... we'll never see her again.

Officer Ziva David: Hadar set the fire.
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: Covering for Rivkin.
Officer Ziva David: I was betrayed by Mossad, by my father, by Tony. Who's next? You?

NCIS Director Leon Vance: Let me make it easy for you, Gibbs. You made the right call.
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: I wasn't asking your opinion, Leon.
[Starts to leave]
NCIS Director Leon Vance: Just who the Hell do you think you're talking to?
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: [Gibbs slams the Director's door shut. And walks back] That's a damn good question! I've been wondering about that for a while!
NCIS Director Leon Vance: You know you spend half your time second guessing me, studying me, testing me.
Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: I'm looking for answers.
NCIS Director Leon Vance: It'd help if you ask the damn questions!... There's the rub. You don't have a clue what to ask. You don't trust me but you don't know why.
