Fedja van Huêt, Morten Burian, and Sidsel Siem Koch in Speak No Evil (2022)

Review by chiquidracula-264-204027

Speak No Evil

7/10

Would you rather be too polite? Or dead?

This one was pretty good, about a couple who meets a stranger on vacation who then invites them to stay in his home. Already seems weird. Although there are many instances where the family should just pickup and leave they really are just too polite to leave. This one reminds me of "Nothing bad can happen" another film where our protagonist is constantly victimized and keeps returning cuz he believes these people are kind deep down. These people are so polite they don't want to be rude house guests even though this will lead them down a road of no return literally! I felt bad at the film's climax cuz I felt they kind of got what they deserved but the film does what it sets out to do provoke thought.
