Prosenjit Chatterjee and Dev in Kacher Manush (2022)

Review by ananyomukherjeeslg

Kacher Manush

3/10

Hopelessly pathetic, wastage of money & time

Wanted to watch a standard Bengali movie during this Puja. Took my family alongwith. The plot was weak from the beginning but the first half was bearable with some good moments specially the romantic ones and strong acting from Bumbada and Esha. The songs are good and shot very well. But after the interval, nothing can pull up the crappy load of pathetic screenplay and storyline. Nothing was sincere and convincing. Every minute i was praying to the movie god " ar choras na, ar choras na". But alas. By that time, director was grappling to find any tiny bit of story left to be screened but couldn't find one. So, 'golper goru totokhone gach chere akashe'. Nothing could have saved the movie by then, not even the strong casting. Such a pathetic waste of resources. Couldn't even stay on our seats till the end. Expectations shattered, time and money wasted. But nothing came close to the sadness to feel sorry for the unfortunate fall of Bengal cinema. Bengali directors and filmmakers seem to have lost every connection with their audience and even reality. Painful.
