    Mediocre

Such a shame that after such a lackluster first season, season 2 started off strong and then just quickly lost steam and fell flat on it's face. The scripts for these later season 2 episodes are severely lacking any jokes or interesting and memorable storylines just like the first season and it's trying to figure out what to do with the characters and nothing is working. This Jerry character is not funny in the slightest. He's just this boring, fat old guy with absolutely no charisma or personality and he's only purpose to the show is that everyone in the office bully's him. If anything he's character is really more sad than funny. Mark has got to be the most boring character ever to appear on anyone's tv screen and the human equivalent of a white wall, and this storyline with Andy being jealous of Ann and Mark has dragged on far longer than necessary. All the episodes have the most completely random, weird and unfunny storylines which I'm not seeing the point of at all. We've had an episode about two penguins getting married, an episode about a f#@king power bar being unhealthy, an episode about everyone in the office doing paintings ect. And I'm still not seeing what the purpose is of a show being about working in a parks department. All this could maybe at least work if it had a funnier set of characters like the office which it's desperately trying to be but not with this lackluster cast of characters.

An average Season 2 episode, but still with some big laughs

Up to this point, we have gotten to know much about how Leslie is at work. However, we still don't know much about her personal life. "Leslie's House" not only gives us an exclusive look to how Leslie interacts with a new boyfriend, but also what her home life is like. A place she keeps very private, not even us viewers have been inside.

The episode is all about a dinner party that Leslie has at her home and the whole idea is to impress her new spontaneous and adventurous boyfriend, Justin, played by Justin Theroux. Now, this is just my opinion, but I was never a big fan of this character. Not anything against the actor who portrays him, but I just don't think the character is that funny, and his chemistry with Leslie isn't that great. Probably the funniest scenes involving Justin are the ones with Tom, who in desperate attempts, is always trying to impress him.

This storyline takes up the entire episode, so there are no other side stories to be seen here. Very similar to the problem I had with a previous episode "Sister City" I just don't think the storyline of Leslie throwing a dinner party is strong enough to carry the entire episode. With that being said, this is Parks and Recreation, so an average episode is still very good. There are great moments here and there, but it just isn't as tightly written as some of Park's other great episodes. Some highlights of this episode include: the introduction of Leslie as a hoarder; Tom eating a large pepper; and the introduction of Barney the accountant, who gives a very tedious presentation that almost bores everyone to death.

Overall, this episode just doesn't have enough juice to remain consistently funny the entire runtime, but we do get some very funny moments at the dinner party. I mean, when you put all these great characters in the same room, there is bound to be some great, laugh-out-loud moments!
