Srikanth runs a cable TV company named after his cousin who has been missing for several years , Kanchana . . His uncle Kaikala and Annapurna are beside themselves with worry and concern. Paralelly , Lakshmi Rai is a TV journalist who has rubbed several people the wrong way thanx to her brutal honest frank telecasts . Nothing much is told about her own family . Kaikala's friend Bharanai hatches a plan to hide Lakshmi for a few days to keep her away from a gangster whom she had exposed. Both Kaikala and Bharani decide to pass her off as the missing Kanchana for a few days till things settle down and she gets a visa to go to the US . Annapurna starts believing her as her own daughter . Surprisingly she doesn't ask many questions about those missing years . She comes to the village and everyone including Srikanth believe that she is the missing Kanchana . A lot of misunderstandings and confusions follow . Finally the truth comes out and Annapurna accepts that she is not her missing daughter . It has a couple of catchy duets . Rajalakshmi is super as a comic villian money lender . Ranjani , Ali and others have added to the comedy track . Over all its a fine family fare . In some scenes Lakshmi looks too young for Srikanth.
