    Classic House

The season started with unorthodox episodes and also the ending episodes of previous seasons were different from the classic House routine. Well this episode follows a classic House routine. A patient comes in, there is an initial diagnosis, it seems to make sense, the patient seems to get well, all of sudden the patient crashes and he is about to die in couple of days if House and his team doesn't figure out the correct diagnosis and when all hopes are gone House has an epiphany while he is talking to Wilson and he saves the patient proving once more that he is a genius. But the episode lacks House's sarcasm, him making fun of other people, his tussle with Cuddy. Also, he seems helpful and much more sane and under control.

This was one of the best episodes (excluding season finales and season openers) I've seen lately

The ending of the Foreman/Chase situation was amazing and regarding the patient's father's situation the sense of wonder you're left with at the end of the episode pulling you in one of two directions is amazing too.

Maybe Just a Bit Contrived--Still Great

We have two things going on here. First and foremost, a boy about ten years old, the son of a business wunderkind who has been seeing a bevy of doctors to no avail. The father, normally a cutthroat businessman, had heard about House and demands that he treat him. Money is no object but it has to be House.

As is the case with most of these shows, numerous methods are employed with House, who has no license right now, being an armchair quarterback. The boy moves slowly toward death.

The second major plot has Foreman and Chase trying to figure a way to cover up their actions in the death of that evil dictator. There is going to be an M & M, which is the followup when a patient dies. They are trying to find a way to show that his medications weren't tampered with (which they were), so they are not seen as at fault.

Finally, we have Fourteen heading off to Thailand, but someone cancelling her ticket at the last moment. There is an uncomfortable moment with a cab driver where she feels it necessary to make him feel as if he were a danger to her.

    • Trivia
If House did sell stock short due to his prior knowledge of the CEO's business intentions, based on information revealed in his son's medical treatment, House would be guilty of insider trading in violation of the securities laws. This would likely be quickly uncovered due to the publicity about the business.
    • Goofs
Dr Cameron states at the 27 minute mark "fever, rash, ascites" but pronounces ascites incorrectly. She pronounces it as ass-sights when it is pronounced ah-SIGHT-tees.
    • Quotes

Dr. Lisa Cuddy: [to House] The kid'll still be Foreman's patient, but his dad wants *you* making the decisions.

Dr. Eric Foreman: Then he's not my patient. You want to give me none of the responsibility and all of the liability.

Dr. Gregory House: Which means I get... Oh cool!
